RE: League Season Conclusion - Suggestions - Darran - 15-06-2020

Testing is £125 per person according to the Dartford manager. Voting forms now been sent out to clubs and clubs have until Wednesday 5pm to vote. Play-offs in all 3 leagues back on the table as long as the government give the OK for them to happen.

By the way I should clear up as well that I wasn't saying Alex was lying as I am sure the Gateshead chairman said it would cost £60k as that was what the league was saying it was that figure was wrong.

Turns out the decision on the Step 2 play-offs will only happen if the resolution passes the vote. So the play-off clubs have to vote for something which might harm them.

Kings Lynn and Wealdstone promoted then.

Any word on the playoffs?

Seems like we are still only half way to a solution. I'm not sure anyone knows what's going on. They need to end this farce soon though

It's like Alex always points out: no leadership from leaden booted administrators who rely on rules and precedent and dread taking responsibility when rules and precedent don't help.

So Barrow are back in the EFL after 48 years...
Will they stay long? I doubt it but hey the ride must be fun for the fans.
Given that I remember them playing City at Whaddon Road (what 5 or 6 years ago) just when a new investor came in and they where close to bottom of the Conference north as it was then, it does show that it is possible with the right investment and Manager even in the outback of Cumbria to get into the EFL in 5 years!
Cov19 certainly has been kind to them as it's anyone's guess if history had played the season out they would have been automatic champions...
We can dream but we are in a better place thanks to the board than any time in 20 years or so....

That investor isn't with the club anymore. They were very good this season once they found their form although I think they will find it hard to keep their manager which wont help them. It is quite hard to get relegated from League 2 though so I would be surprised of they don't hang on in there like a Morecombe.

Play offs will happen if the government allow it and I don't see why they wont and at least 4 of the 6 clubs decide to play on. That last one could be a sticking point although Havant, Dorking and Dartford look set to do so in the South at least. York clearly will in the North. I can't see them happening until the end of July though given lots clearly still to plan

So this drags on for another month!! When id the next step, seems they suggest there could be playoffs but not deadline as to when this must be set up or happen.

Can see them just about scrapping 4 teams for the north, don't think Chester or Gateshead will try.

One for you Darren, if as per news items BorehamWood are struggling financially, why the hell are they going into the NL playoffs. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me!

Last week the government via the Sports Minister, have already confirmed its an issue for the National League as to whether playoffs go ahead or not.
The usual dithering and non-decision making by the useless NL administration is the problem, not the government.
