Let the chain-reaction begin.
Well done League 2 for actually making a decision!
Only Stale Mince / FGR voted to continue.

I suspect he only voted to continue to make it look like he really cared about resolving things on the field and not off, bearing in mind FGR were never going to make the playoffs.  Their whole staff has been on furlough for months - FGR fans on another forum I'm on have been complaining about the lack of updates they've been getting.

As for our chance of promotion, I think that went when we went into lockdown.  We were flying at the time and I felt quite confident of us going up automatically.  Instead we're going to lose to Northampton in the semis of the playoffs.

South Shields have failed with their legal challenge against the decision to null and void the season at Steps 3 to 7

"Hundreds" of clubs?

Interesting to see how far the chain reaction, which is complicated by the demise of Bury, goes. If Step 3 downwards are to be left completely untouched due to their void decision then it could finish up with one of the NLS or NLN only having 21 teams next season, instead of the 24 which had been the original aim.

We are still to find out where Bury will be placed. I guess they could enter in NLN or the NL to even things up, but yes it looks like one of the Step 2 leagues would run at a team short if all the normal promotions and relegations take place.

I think the nails are sadly firmly in the coffin of Bury F.C. and whatever Phoenix club is formed will probably have to enter into the North West Counties league system.
Chorley, Fylde & Ebbsfleet to be relegated from NL, first 2 to NLN, Ebbsfleet to NLS, depending on playoff outcomes, more likely that NLS would be the short league.

There had been talk that they might be allowed higher up the pyramid and of course the fact steps 3-7 have been voided makes it tricky for them to add a team unless they can take a place of a team who has folded. Who knows they might get lucky, but its another thing that in normal circumstances would have been sorted out by now. My guess is whatever league runs a team short will have to get money from the league to make up for the one less game. I guess they could decide to move us now we are further south.

If play-offs are to be played it surely won't be until next month although I still struggle to see how they can be played at our level given the lack of money. I still struggle to see leagues being able to start for months yet given a decent number of clubs at National League level will want as close to full capacity as possible before the start. Alex said we could have 900 people if social distancing was down to 1m, but hardly going to be the short of home coming we want if that was all we could have and that people would have to stand/sit 1m apart from people.
