All the talk is of a lease, which will generally grant you exclusive use of the facility for the period of the lease. The arrangement above would be more akin to a licence to occupy at the times we need it, and I haven't seen any reference to the agreement being a licence. Now it might be all the people are referring to lease as shorthand for said licence, but I doubt it.
There will be terms on who is responsible for what, or to what extent the facilities could be sub-let, and that might have an impact on how much you could rent the pitch out, but I would be fairly confident that if the pitch was rented out the revenue would belong to the club.
I think you may need to revise your assumptions.
I actually think that it’s simpler this way - we have no rent to cover, and no management of hiring out the pitch etc. A lot of clubs would be envious of this arrangement.

If the pitch is rented out the revenue will go to the landlords. That will be their only revenue (nothing off any catering etc) and the money they make will be instead of us paying a ground rent. Imo it’s a much better deal for the club, as it’s the landlords job and responsibility to collect said rent from the various teams that use it, as opposed to the Club having to employ someone to do it. It’s fair to say it’s not proved the easiest task in the past.
We have the ground when we need it and benefit from the bar and food whenever it’s used.
Regarding maintenance, As tenants i believe we will be responsible for the upkeep of the ground, and the care of the pitch will be an joint ongoing thing, with a bit regularly put away in a fund to replace it when necessary.
That’s my understanding, and I think it’s a good deal for all parties.

So not a lease in its truest sense then? More akin to hiring of facilities?

I’d say a lease but we hire the pitch to the Landlords when we’re not using it in lieu of rent.

As I understand it there is a lease in place and has been for a few years which is a requirement for the league - I suppose you could say it’s a sub agreement whereby the pitch hire is managed independently in lieu of rent

I think it's a positive arrangement, and I trust the owners to look after the club

Pretty good set of results tonight: Southport and Alfreton losing, Spenneymoor drawing. Keeps them all behind us. Just a shame Chorley got a win.

Chorley play Brackley on Saturday so someone’s dropping points

Brackley 9pts on us with 2 games in hand, so don’t see us troubling them, so hopefully they’ll do the business. Spenny v Kiddy, Chester at KL, and Alfreton at new manager bouncing Hereford, so plenty of potential for more dropped points. Just have to make sure we do our job. At least they’ll have some decent support up there!

I notice that York are falling towards the NL relegation zone at quite a rate of knots, having started the season quite brightly.
