Southport are being sucked right into it now, and are one of the few we need to chase. I would like to send them down. A few of their illiterate ranters really don’t like us on Twittex.

Their players looked pretty capable against us, I do fear that a decent manager will sort them out.  I’m amazed they appointed Gowling in the first place.

Just draw the line one team lower for a moment, there's a six point cushion. If we were above it we'd be looking over our shoulders fearing the worst, below it, it's doom and gloom! There are plenty of teams who'll be sweating until Easter.

I don't know to be honest. I think who they get in as manager is going to be key and Josh was just as big a mistake as us getting Flowers, but for them its made worse because they chose him during the season. Like you say though their wage bill has to be higher than ours so for them it is a total disaster.

Some Blyth Spartans fans (the “Green Army”) do a pretty good podcast. Obviously it gives a lot of insights into their club, but they know a fair bit about the other north eastern clubs too. They were discussing whether Darlo could escape the drop, and pointed out that Blyth overcame an 8-point gap to safety to survive last season. So we have hope!

They hired a former Villan. Was last with Chester. How does everybody feel about that appointment and our great escape?

He’s got a solid if unspectacular CV. He’ll stabilise Darlo and tighten up the defence, so it doesn’t bode well for the sides around them if they start to pick up points.

RE: NLN Watch - Severnside - 31-12-2023

It's up to City to pick up points, yes it depends on other clubs but really it's in our hands
