RE: NLN Watch - Neil - 16-01-2024

So Rushall go to Chester and win, Buxton go to Chester and win yet we go there and don't even try to score.

They’ve just beaten them, as did Rushall, we went up there and got our tummies tickled.

That’s Cook tactics for you. Just awful.

To be fair Darran both of those teams are higher placed than us. We don't have the players. You continuely blame MC when the real root of the problem is the slashing of the budget and poor recruitment at the start of the season. That, and that we won't/cannot pay enough to attract the players to get us out of this. We are not going to get out of this and blaming the manager is passing the buck regarding who is really at fault.

Works when you have someone to score wonder goals and yes I also agree with Paul that it isn’t totally his fault, but there seemed to be this believe that because he kept us up once he would do so again. This isn’t to say anyone else would have done better because we will never know but things rarely work out as good 2nd time around. Problem at the moment is I just don’t think he is capable of motivating a side that needs lots of motivating. He’s complained about fitness when he joined but he’s had plenty of time to improve that and it hasn’t happened. We need snookers to stay up and he needs to be bold and go for it. We can’t go to Banbury or Bishops Stortford next week and piss around hoping to sneak a game 1-0.
Again though as Paul alludes to someone else has to take most of the blame and we all know who he is.

In the 19/20 season I remembered that James Rowe after we got hammered at Alfreton blamed our poor away form on the previous manager. That curtailed season we won 3, drew 3 and lost 10. Now I thought Rowe shouldn't have said that given he had ample time to change the away form, but it was of course Cook who was in charge at the start of that season. So in National League North Cook has a shocking record away from home and that is a fact even his strongest fan can't dispute.

Here's MC's form in NLS and NLN (us & Chips) : https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mike-cook/leistungsdatenLigenNational/trainer/95171

Granted, it's not top of the table form, but you could put Klopp, Guardiola, Arteta or Emery in charge of our squad and it wouldn't make a jot of difference. We apparently don't have the money to attract players of the calibre to move us up the table and who wants to play for a team where relegation is now inevitable? The postponed Chorley match is just a temporary reprieve. We're going down and heaping it on MC is deflecting away from the real reason for this fiasco.

Like I say I agree with you it’s not totally his fault at all but he does have to pick up some of the blame as well as he is the manager. If he keeps us up he’s going to get the praise.

RE: NLN Watch - HeathBrewer - 17-01-2024

Leadership always seems to get the blame or the praise.

RE: NLN Watch - Neil - 20-01-2024

Chester vs Bishops Stortford today. Just watch BS win!

I was so disappointed with out showing there last week considering they've been turned over at home before and after that game.
