RE: NLN Watch - Growlithe - 06-03-2024

Went to Banbury v Rushall last night. Banbury were poor, unable to pass the ball. Equalised with an iffy penalty just before half-time. Rushall's winner was a penalty that looked even dodgier. Rushall looked ok but Banbury appear doomed and have a must-win game against Southport on Saturday.

Banbury are in free fall and are likely to join us and Stortford. I’m not sure who the other relegated team will be.

Getting Steve Watson in as manager was a great move. Spennymoor also changed manager and look at them now.

I think all of the Geordie clubs (including Gateshead) changed their managers at the same time. The results have been mixed to say the least.

EDIT: Spenymoor took the highly-rated manger from Marske, but it’s done them no favours. Perhaps he needs longer?

I think getting a manager in with his experience was indeed a great move, but i think the best move was giving him the funds to bring in players who could change their season around. They rolled the dice and it's paid dividends, resulting them likely retaining their NL status.

Best piece of advice I was given when I was playing snooker was not to worry about the opponent, when you're at the table it's just you and the balls. We have ten games, we're not playing badly, we have to take them one by one and win them all.

Everyone's getting fitter, we're getting a few players in, we can do this.

RE: NLN Watch - MeadowClark - 06-03-2024

Those results last night were definitely a blow, we probably need 5 wins now just to even stand a chance. The long and the short of it is the ones who’ve invested in players to keep them up are now going to stay up, and the ones that didn’t aren’t, and we’re one of them.

Spennymoor are in fantastic form. Gateshead lost their manager to MK Dons and have recovered well from losing a lot of players. The only one it hasn’t worked out for is Blyth who could be in trouble.

They gave the former manager the funds as well and that didn’t work out well. Yes you need funds but you also need a manager who knows what to do with it. Who knows if Mike would have kept us up if he’d been given more money but it’s been clear for a while that the people in charge of the club have decided to gamble to try and stay up.

Spennymoor have taken 16 of the last available 18 points!

I stand corrected. I thought they were doing less well than they actually are.

RE: NLN Watch - Gladfans - 14-03-2024

Banbury have sacked their manager.
