Absolutely agreed. Inept referees or not, we cannot put ourselves in the position to eat all the discipline.

Very little attempt to actually describe what’s happening on the pitch, instead more focused on belittling the referee and exclaiming “oh my god” and “no chance” constantly.

Also would it kill to get a teamsheet so they can actually read the names of the opposition players? Rather than a constant stream of “number 9, plays it to the number 11, plays it to the number 8”.

I know it’s all a learning curve so hope the feedback is taken in the constructive way it’s intended.
It was me doing the commentary today. Problem with that is we are rarely if ever given an actual team sheet when we go away from home, and if I was to use the online one, when I flick to the team sheet the livestream would cut out.

I appreciate the feedback but today’s officials were beyond frustrating to watch. It was a cold wet horrible day down in Uxbridge and I am also feeling under the weather, I am very happy to take the criticism on board as today was very much an off day for me, hopefully be better for our trip to Slough.

Apologies to all listeners.

If you weren't there today you have to understand that the players were scared to make a tackle anywhere near or in our box as the ref literally gave everything against us. This might be noticeable for there 3rd and 4th goal on any highlights.

And changed my mind, Jarrod at fault for the 4th goal, diving over one yet again.

Definitely no need to apologize. I appreciate your commentary. I'd lose my mind if I couldn't listen to games over here in North Cackalacky.

Don't apologise please. Best commentary we've ever had.

You're probably the one who deserves an apology from someone who once discussed a bin on the match day live Twitter updates.

As for the result, frustrating. Third time we've had a red card while winning around half time. We didn't go on to win any of those games.

Well done NWGCAFC as was said by its author take it on board we move on. I might add no one whether a volunteer or paid is beyond criticism.

The great John Arlott legendary cricket commentator said “ if you’re commenting on the radio you have to paint the listener a picture of what you can see. If you are doing it for TV the audience can already paint that picture.

Thanks for what you do in other capacities.

Got to the worst referee I've seen. How can't these officials be accountable? Cost us 5 points in the last 2 games.

I'll confess that I don't listen to the commentary so to that extent am unable to comment, but I am a fully (un) paid up member of that small band of City volunteers who try and keep parts of the show on the road.  The folk that give up their weekend to allow others to enjoy City away matches have my admiration and support; I'm sure they give and give up more than we'll ever know.  I have heard, albeit by being pitchside, the excellent work the media commentary team who cover the women's team and I know their efforts are appreciated literally around the world

Of course we volunteers are not above constructive feedback and I think that's what Hank was looking to do with his post.  However  what I've learnt from a lifetime in commerce is that there are ways and means of delivering the feedback.  I'd suggest doing it on here is perhaps not the best choice.

Got to agree with that wholeheartedly SL.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion but I thought the ref wasn’t that bad. I thought both were clear penalties and Ben deserved the two yellows. The first tackle was pretty bad and was certainly a yellow card.

In the first half we had two shots and scored with both one of which was deflected. As well as the two pens in the first half Thompson made a really good save which looked a certain goal.

Yes in the second half it was harder with 10 men but we gave away some shocking goals. The 3rd we had two players chasing and neither was quick enough and they both tried to foul him and neither managed to even do that. As for the winner that was just plain embarrassing defending as we allowed their striker to waltz into the box and score. So frustrating after Pinchards superb equaliser should have given us a point. Ultimately though I do think the better team on the day won.
