I’ve said this a few times about being a “new” supporters even though this is my second season as a season ticket holder and there is definitely a sense of old/new school vibes within the fan base. Like the team, feel like the fan base need to get together - old and new. Hopefully the supporters club going forward will that void maybe a AGM or charity event.Agree re timing, regardless of whether sacking LM was the right long term decision I do feel like having him in charge for Saturday would have given us the best chance of winning that particular game. SK had one day with the squad, and basically had to resort to sending out LM's teams and tactics, it basically ended up a poor parody of an LM team (and a lot of people weren't that complimentary of the original version).
I would agree with the comment (think Charlie raised) if we lost Saturday with Mansell in charge then fair play his position was probably at the point when a change could happen justifiably - but the timing wasn’t right. Instead, we basically sent the same team out without plan, leadership or direction. I did see a comment which has been removed on Facebook by someone very close to Lee saying they were told they needed to win the next three to keep their jobs. So I suppose the writing was on the wall.
I would say sacking him over zoom (if true) does not reflect well on the club whether than was done by Jay, AP or Eamonn or combination of the three.
Ruben Reid talk has actually got my blood boiling a bit. If that’s true WSM paid him more then there is something wrong somewhere especially if he was high on the list. Maybe the full list can be revealed now?
Ultimately, I’ll back the team and get behind the new manager. What I’m certain even more now, mid table isn’t going to be acceptable for the current board. Either he needs to push for playoffs or else Mr King will also be gone come end of season and we start again come July (not October again!).
On the future of SK, unless we are under threat of relegation I'd want us to keep him in post until the end of next season. We've chopped and changed a lot recently, I think at some point we need to give someone a decent run at it. You are right though, its clear that the board want more than mid table.
