Horton Road. There was a tea bar in the main stand.

That's easy.  When 'City' were playing at the Horton Road Stadium there was always a band of supporters who would watch the match behind the opponants goal so we could be the closest to seeing the City goals reign in !

During one match it chucked it down so we all ran for cover under the part of the stand which housed the Tea kiosk.  We found that our chanting had a better effect due to the accoustics of the roof - far better than being out in the open behind the goal.  So some of us migrated to watch future matches under the covered stand and becuase it housed the Tea Kiosk we stated calling it the 'Tea End'.  Obviously anyone than stood with us and sang became a 'Tea Ender'.  Simples ?

Spent many a cold afternoon watching from the T end, dirt slope from memory, August games more often spent sunning ourselves on the grass tumps opposit the stands, rarely ventured behind the goal due to it being grass and often wet. Horton Road another what could have been for City as it was an enormous bowl that never delivered on its potential.
Later days at Horton Road saw the advent of floodlights and a flapping track (greyhound racing)
When Westbury turned up, Geoff Hester drove to the ground in his white Rolls Royce we stepped up a gear but never really got going on the pitch and the rest is well documented history.....

The name came about because of a. BBC  competition j believed was called Battle of the cops and open to all football  clubs big and small ?
As I remember Rich Goddard got a entry form from the BBC but we needed a name first ,now there is some little disagreement about who picked the name T- End I know that. I. was the first to suggest the T - End but. Rich says he was  ,but hay its the T- End  now,  and who knows what it could be now except for a BBC competition and rich getting a entry form ?
That is the true story of how the  T- End got its name.

Yep and does any one remember that small sliding door to get in to the   T - End  ? Bloody blew a hooly when left open ,really cheesed me off as well as freezing my nuts off .Funny what you remember from your youth .

HRV would have been a great ground if it had been developed but Westbury made a fortune with the houses and all of the streets their are nomes after ex footballers if i am correct.

If you can imagine Chelsea with the open ends before it was developed then HR was a smaller version
