Gloucester City Supporters’ Trust has called for an urgent meeting with the club’s representatives to seek reassurances about the long term future of the club.
We would like to share our members’ concern about the apparent lack of leadership structure at the club currently.
Over the last 22 years the Trust has been a major patron and sponsor of the club, raising over £1M. This deserves to be recognised in any future relationship with the club.
Our main objective is to support the club in whatever way we can, but we are also mindful about the negative effects caused by ongoing instability, both on the health and well-being of our supporters and volunteers, and on the reputation of the Club.
We will keep our members up to date on any developments, in the meantime we call on all fans to unite behind the team.

The Trust is right to put out this statement. The club feels rudderless, no long term plan and just firefighting in reaction to events as they arise.
The Chambers were on the right track with structural issues around improving facilities and community work. Clearly the playing side had gone badly wrong - but we don't know why there was a focus on substandard local players or if TF was handicapped by being informed that he had to recruit from a local pool.
With AP (and EMG?) being back in charge we don't know if this is a short term arrangement still with an intention to sell the club, or if he's back longer term to grow the club. If it's the former then we have a further period of instability. If it's the latter, then AP really does need to start listening to the Supporters Trust and other expertise.
I'd like to think AP is big enough to say he's got things wrong in the past and needs to embed structures within the club to take it up to a professional level. Having representation from the ST on a board would be useful. At the end of the day, an owner is the temporary steward of a club on behalf of its supporters, so having Supporter Trust input at a decision-making level can only be a good thing.

What is the evidence that the Supporters Trust have the experience and abilities to to run a football club?
I don't know, but as a relative newcomer I would be intrigued to know

They don’t, imo.
Neither the manpower or the expertise in its current form.
Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

I don't think they're proposing to takeover the club if you read the statement?
