Sheffield Wednesday have been handed a 12 point deduction for breaking EFL's profitability and sustainability rules. Deduction applies to next season. During the 1990's, remember Sheff Wed being a good Premier League side. Getting to FA Cup and League Cup Finals in 1993. Had a good team having the likes of Chris Woods, Des Walker, Chris Waddle, David Hirst, Mark Bright, Andy Sinton, John Harkes. At the start of the Premier League Era, Leeds Utd, Sheff Wed and Sheff Utd did not look out of place amongst the other clubs.
But as the seasons went by, these clubs experienced relegation. They were to also experience relegation to League One. Bradford City, Barnsley and Huddersfield Town also tasted the big time. Bradford had two seasons in the top flight and have had relegations down to League two.
Leeds Utd and Sheff Utd now back in the Premier League, be interesting to see how they get on.

Doesn't Harrogate have an artificial pitch? If they do will be replaced by a real grass surface. Well Done to them, a brilliant achievement!!! Never been to Harrogate's ground. Been to FC Halifax, Guiseley and Bradford Park Avenue grounds.

Other players that Sheff Wed had in the 1992/93 season :- Viv Anderson, Nigel Pearson, Carlton Palmer, Chris Bart Williams, Roland Nillson, Paul Warhurst. Remember Paul Warhurst being a Central Defender, was converted into a Striker. He became a prolific striker earning a move to Blackburn Rovers.(Think that Chris Sutton and Dion Dublin were Strikers that were turned into emergency Central Defenders).
