Redhill have become the 1st team to have to forfeit an FA Cup game due to Covid.

I hope this doesn't encourage players or teams to try and hide any COVID or deter them from testing when they have symptoms.

Just allow them to isolate for 14 days and play the tie later. Logistical difficulties yes, but overcomeable, fair, and avoids spread by keeping clubs/teams honest.

That went through my mind, but it is likely the whole team would have to isolate if there was any positive tests and if they didn't it would have more serious consequences than one team having to forfeit an FA Cup tie. The speed of the rounds this year up to the 1st round just doesn't make it practical to keep delaying ties.

That's my point, there may be more serious consequences if they don't isolate, sometimes the whole team, and from examples we have seen across the sport not everyone is following the rules - fusbal uber alles!

It may not be preferable but of course its practical and possible - we're not talking about sending a dog to Mars here - its just inconvenient that's all.

Different times, different ways, different days.

Yeah it’s all very different. The fa amazingly still haven’t come out with rules as to how they will decide the season if it has to be stopped again

Burton Park Wanderers who were due to be the live FA Cup BBC game tomorrow have had to pull out because of a player testing positive. Think we will see more teams as the weeks go on. Suspect there might end up being league games called off because of it as well.

8 teams have now had to withdraw from the FA Cup including 5 so far from the round on Saturday.

It's inevitable that the season when/if it starts will be disrupted by players testing positive. As for crowds at games at our level well that's another story and looks very unlikely any time soon.
The streaming of games was hinted at wasn't it?
How about free for season ticket holders and charging match streaming fees for others. Streaming may well end up being the only way that the season may even start if fans aren't allowed due to the 2nd wave now taking place and local lock downs being implemented.....

Bollocks to it. I'm tired of this now. Let crowds in else this whole project will bankrupt the club.

It will bankrupt most clubs and most service industry businesses too.
