So lost 1-0 to Oxford.....
Not the best pre season results so far?
Pre season yes but we seem to be struggling to score so far with injuries we look light up front.....

After the glowing reports from Tamworth I was really looking forward to this but we really struggled to get our passing game going; Oxford didn't, they were very good.
Khaellem and Matt Mc up front were feeding on scraps and the former would've struggled to impress but he was being hit with too many direct passes from the back. We seemed to play 5-3-2 as well and defended very well, were unlucky with the goal but as much as James will say results don't matter a few wins would be nice!

Pre Season matches tend to not be an indicator of how well you will do in the league. On paper, this has to be the strongest team that we have had at National North/South level. We have Rep of Ireland, N. Ireland, England u23 internationals. Clearly the players are highly rated when in that age group.
If we can get a good result in the FA Cup, that could boost confidence and team spirit will improve. Not too concerned about pre season results. League and Cup is when it matters. COYR.

It was a behind closed doors game so had to feel sorry for the old guy who was in front of me at the entrance who got turned away.
And there was this too, this is new. I think we're getting one of these. I like this.
Where was this positioned at Oxfords ground? Was this at the end of the terraced stand behind the dugouts? Can remember when I first went to AFC Telford's ground. Thought there scoreboard was good. Went to Guiseley away last season, the scoreboard looked like a big TV set.

Great that we’ll be having one of those scoreboards too. Got so many ideas for things we could play on it for the new season.
