I’m just a long-standing Chesterfield fan who has a wander on to your board to see what the view is. It seems your mostly a bit bitter. Every player / manager has his price at every level. There’s always someone bigger who will come calling. It’s happened to us many times over the years, Arthur Cox early 80s, John Duncan mid 80s, Nicky Law 2000, most recently Paul Cook 2014. It happens. Get over it. That’s how football works lads.

You seem to think people are besides themselves that the previous manager has gone. To be clear, very few are. Read into that what you will. Mistaking underhanded, unprofessional dealings for bitterness is foolish of you.

Says someone who is such a super fan has just seemingly joined the message board? Anyway, enjoy the rest of your season as you probably slide inexorably to mid table.

I haven’t got a gripe with anyone and certainly not the Board at GCAFC. They have done wonders for our Club. It will be interesting to see the card count in the next few games. Certainly our disciplinary record under Rowe was pretty bad. Must be poor ref s in the NL as well as the NLN!!

Love how you come on here having just recently taken an interest in GCAFC because of JR and you think you know how we’re all feeling. If you read the post just before yours you’ll see comments like “it’s behind us” and “move forward” and if you read other threads you’ll see how excited we are about the future and our new appointment.

I suspect there would be bitterness if half our squad had been taken, but we’re in a much stronger position than we were in before JR arrived as he’s brought in some great players. And the ones we’ve lost have only been here a short time, so difficult to become bitter about something you haven’t really got used to.

The post you initially responded to was about cards, something we had been debating as a group long before we’d even given Chesterfield a moments thought, with players already closing in on suspensions after just half a dozen games. So, we were loving the start to the season but being ultra critical and looking forward to games to come with the potential of having 3-4 players out when we have a relately small squad; we were picking up 4-5+ cards per game, which felt unusual for a team winning every game. Just made us question the discipline / game plan.

I’m not sure CF would class himself as a super fan, but I do know he gives up a large number of hours each week volunteering for the club, offering up his particular area of expertise.  What’s your role at your club?

Agree, I might be wrong but it’s felt like refs are penalising everyone more, noticed more penalties too, so it might not just be us. That said, not sure we had anyone booked v Boston.

Some of the comments by the Chesterfield supporter were a bit unnecessary. Clearly not all of them hold the same views. On the Chesterfield forum there's a thread showing interest in our new manager. http://www.thecfss.co.uk/forums/index.ph...opic=67172 with a quote concerning us:

"I hope they get promoted. Always found them a decent bunch when I was living that way over the border".

Just hope they don't come knocking on our door for another manager at some stage...
