Paul is a proper bloke, a real gent ... we'll do a press conference (free live streamed we hope) Thursday afternoon after training. We'll back him as I have done ... and I hope you agree ... every manager i've signed at the club ... the hard work starts tomorrow!

But what happens if the river is in fact a reservoir?

Looking forward to 2020/21 season Mark II, just waiting for the next obstacle to be put in Gloucester City's way.

That is easy to answer ... I can only spell "River" or "Sea" or maybe "Lake" at best ... so your posh "res-er-voir" ...is not welcome in my story.

A great appointment for the football club, one that we could have only dreamed of years ago.

think he has worked under Harry Redknapp at some point so will also have experienced heads to call on if needed.

Does that mean we'll try and sign Nico Krancjar?

just been looking at Groves managerial record - should we be worried by a win percentage of 22% from 123 games? doesnt smack as a successful record to me?

I’m only interested in his win record whilst he’s with us. As others have said, you can’t polish a turd and a few of the clubs he’s managed haven’t been in a position to be challenging for titles etc. On the flip side of that, he was coaching at Portsmouth when they won the FA Cup.

We must be a very attractive side. How many managers get a chance to take over a club top of the league and with a chairman confirming he will support him transfer wise.
That can't have happened too many times in history.

Most managers get a role in clubs who are struggling so that win percentage almost certainly reflects that.

Think this is a very positive appointment and wish him all the luck going, if such a thing exists
