Well that's another point and Steps 3 & 4 probably shouldn't have started either as I can't see them getting anywhere near to finishing the season.

How viable will the fa trophy even be with a severe lockdown?

A mere 159 miles apart. Smile

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

4 of the Step 3/4 clubs still in the competition (Peterboro Sporting, Hornchurch, Haringey and Maldon) are now in tier 4. Presumably any of those with home ties (including Maldon) will have to ensure their facilities and covid security precautions are equivalent to "elite" clubs. Or perhaps that is already a given?

Meanwhile, excellent win on pens for Leamington at Wrexham. Should be a great game on Boxing Day.

Leamington are flying atm, will be a difficult game Boxing Day but one we can win if we’re at our best.

A total national lock down looks to be a certainty after Christmas so god only knows how long that will last and the impact on all levelsand competitions remains to be seen.....

New FA guidance says tier 4 clubs below our level cannot train or play.

Maldon played in the FA Cup during lockdown it will be more if the FA deem the FA Trophy an elite competition or not. Marine for example were able to train all the way during lockdown and play a couple of friendlies because they were still in the FA Cup.

I watched the Leamington game as I had backed them and Wrexham did make 8 changes from their last league game so it was hardly a first team, but they played well and deserved to edge it in normal time.
