The COF may die
#1

Today I have been emailed the following. If anyone understands this and wants to attempt to fix it please email me at Lee.e.mills@gmail.com.

In the last 17 days, since May 3rd, your account has overused the following resources causing faults:

*Entry Processes faults: 2329 times ( An entry process denotes the number of the PHP scripts running at the same time. An entry process usually takes less than a second to complete. This is why often most people confuse the entry processes with the number of visitors on their website. If an entry process limit is 20, this doesn’t mean that only 20 people can access your website at once, because the possibility for 20 people accessing your website at the exact same time is not high, unless you have a very busy website).

You can verify via: cPanel>> Metrics>>Resource Usage>> Current Usage (filter by dates)

Shared hosting plans all have limitations to ensure a fair share of resources. When exceeding those limits, your visitors are faced with performance issues and other clients on the same shared server can be impacted due to the strain this puts on the server.

Let me help on what can be done about this to solve the issues.

You can try to optimize your website scripts and traffic as much as possible to reduce the resource usage for your account and try to bring it under your hosting plan limits. (1) Ensure your applications are updated to the latest version, (2) Remove unneeded plugins and themes, (3) Review your traffic via AWStats and block IPs that you deem illegitimate via IP Blocker.

How to minimize your shared web hosting server usage

Here is what I also found based on the current status of your account, which you can check in cPanel>>AWstats:

I checked the robots that are browsing your website. It is perfectly normal for robots to navigate your website like those of Google, Bing, etc., as they help with the SEO of your website and more. What I found, there were a few robots with "unknown" names that were also browsing your website. You can try to eliminate these shady robots using this article:

The long and short of it is that the host is threatening to suspend our service unless it is fixed as above

Tell them you haven't got a clue what they're on about?

You're paying for the service, they know how to fix it, they can fix it.

Failing that, go elsewhere. If they don't want your money then others will I'm sure.

Oh yes it's definitely genuine and the issue genuine. I just don't have the time to do the manual fix as they've suggested

Didn’t even understand the issue sorry Lee, let alone how to fix it. All gobbledygook to me.
