Route one i think they call that, did any of the trialists look any good. Was there a six foot four , fourteen stone striker with broken nose and cauliflower ears there, if not why not?.

To say Jordan’s goal was special would be an understatement and thank you AP for finally getting them over at FT to thank you for the support

Fitter and stronger second half with the 11 that started the second half. I think we would have gone on to win by a good margin but of course with Paul satisfied by what he’d seen put on all the trialists who in all actuality held their own until the linesman topside decided the foul on Noah wasn’t and they scored. He then missed a blatant offside from a quick free kick. Lino you need to improve before the season starts.
Jordan’s goal silenced the crowd and was spectacular. Well done guys.

You know what? I rather like Jordan Young. He's going to be a player.

Too early for a contract extension with a healthy sell on clause I suppose?!

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

Got to agree Neil, this kid is special. Spent all game trying to get an angle to shot from. But hey it was easier to shot from your own half.

Neil u are absolutely right - he showed glimpses last season - could be a very shrewd signing.

The best thing is is that we are shooting from outside the area. I know that that goal was a bit extreme but it's the third time in three games that it's worked. I'm sure we never used to.
And his goal came just at the right time because I was proper pissed off. I know it was a friendly, I know the result doesn't matter but it was Bath, we never get anything there. they are traditionally better than us but for once I went there thinking we'd win so to go in 0-2 down despite more than matching them was typical. But Matt McClure is the best striker I've ever seen in a City shirt and despite looking a bit out of sorts on his own up front he will always score. And so he did. Twice.
It was good to be level and I wanted us to go on and win but the boss took half the team off to give everyone a chance.
Then the hypothetical raincoluds came; their man dived in front of the lino in the corner, he flagged and gave them a free kick. It was pathetic, especially when you consider that their third came after Noah Smerdon had been fouled. Then just before our third our trialist winger raced to the line and squeezed a cross in which the keeper stopped at his near post. The keeper went to throw the ball to a teammate and the ref stopped him, "goal kick, the lino said it went out". You had to be there. And people still moan about VAR!
I get absolutely wound up over pre-season friendlies. God I love my football!

Hello Neil. You say Matt McClure is the Best Striker you have seen in a City Shirt. Can't disagree with you on that after what he did last season. Just a shame a crowd was not able to witness his goalscoring exploits. I would put Matt McClure along the likes of:- Dale Watkins, Andy Mainwaring, Andy Hoskins, Jimmy Cox, Karl Bayliss, Luke Hopper.
Andrew Adebowale, Hannah, Hoskins, Kirkup, Mainwaring, Tucker, Wollen.
Danny ANDREW, Jake ANDREWS.
