GCAFC vs Farsley Celtic - 13th Nov 2021
#31

Boy, did we need that!  Big Grin

Other results couldn't really have gone better for us. We're now one of four on nine points, but Guiseley have two games in hand. Bottom four are four points adrift - next group of four (including Farsley) have thirteen points. Our GD is now no longer the worst in the division - Farsley & Blyth are wose than us.

Excellent win. What a relief. The best team won.

Big shout outs to Tomlinson, Hulbert, Gerring, and also Harrison who changed the flow of the game when he got pushed up to midfield second half. We were getting overrun before that switch (credit to Manse).

Farsley were a big experienced team and certainly no mugs. Battled hard.

925 is an impressive attendance considering our form, being bottom of the league, and 0 away fans. It will improve too if we keep winning. Good atmosphere in the T End too.

Congrats to Lee on securing the job til the end of the season. Well deserved. Could see what it meant to him for the goals and the full time whistle. COYYR.

Big shout to Nugent who was running the Twitter feed, didn’t have to - shows he cares, well done.

Absolutely. Ben’s doing a sports journalism degree and we’re more than happy to help him get experience.

Well we deserved that against an often physical side. Gerring excellent and young Tomlinson as TM also said performance of the season so far.

We’ve been missing that but of luck- so they gifted us a goal and we took it albeit Ollie still had plenty to do. Tommy O brilliant together with sterling performances from Leadbitter and Galvin.

Pleased for Tom H after a few shockers - played well and will be huge boost to his confidence

DNW - mmm - very lucky not to get a red in the first few minutes for a shoulder barge on their defender - frankly and I know it’s his first game didn’t offer much but he is better than that - trying to over impress maybe.

The card happy ref - he plainly wasn’t watching the game I was watching.

Great result well done LM and the team.

That felt good.

You could sense the relief around the whole stadium when the second goal went in and then the atmosphere really picked up.

Good to see the togetherness between the players after the goals and at full time. It’s days like this that can change a season.

A good team performance, Lee Mansell is improving the team morale. Two Wins, two clean sheets, we created other good chances we could have scored from.
I was wondering if there were any Farsley Celtic supporters, couldn't see any in the South Stand  . The Refreshment Kiosk was doing a good trade, seemed to be a constant queue in the First Half, Half Time, and in the Second Half. Another good crowd, 900 odd, a far cry from the days at Evesham.
Hope we can carry on with this form.

Andrew Adebowale, Hannah, Hoskins, Kirkup, Mainwaring, Tucker, Wollen.
 Danny ANDREW, Jake ANDREWS.

.

Yes they had some supporters, mother and grandparents of one of their players who was hoping to get on as a sub were there!

.

That was a long time coming, two great solo goals and he worked his socks off as well the rest of the game!

There are no strangers here, only friends you have not met yet!

Good summary that, it felt like a pretty anxious, quiet and nervous stadium before that 2nd goal. The place came alive after that though, and I think we played some good stuff in that last 10-15 mins.

Hulbert and Tomlinson very impressive, never stopped running. I thought DNW put himself about, arguably crossed the line a couple of times, but we have been asking for some physicality up top. Gerring an absolute unit, think long term him and Nugent will be a good pairing. Harrison really stepped up second half as well when in midfield, and McClure looked sharp when he came on.  Only negatives for me is that we got a bit passive first half after the goal, and Sheaf who was quite wasteful in possession.
