Just seen this. What a pathetic way to want to win.

I know it's always been controversial, and think it's OK if the bowler is running past the stumps and the batsman / batter / woman with a bat is out of his / her / pronoun crease, even if some think that a warning might be warranted too but this desperate cheat has passed that point and stopped mid-action to do it.

Cheating wanker.

Saw that on twitter. Shouldn't be allowed. I know it's nothing new, but could probably happen 100 times a game.
What struck me with this particular instance is that the batter was pretty much still in their ground as the bowlers front foot landed, so it wasn't really an instance of excessive backing up which is what the "Mankad" rule is supposedly there to stop.

I'm not a massive fan of the backlash the Indians are getting for it though, as ultimately its in the rules.  Definitely need to look at the rules though as it certainly was a great way for a game to finish that was heading towards an exciting finale.
There can't be any pleasure gained from winning a match this way. I remember on the first Brian Lara computer game there was a spot on the wicket where if you pitched it you could bowl the batsman every time. You could bowl out a team for 0 if you so wished....this is the equivalent of that.

Was that the slower ball bouncer?  Ahead of it time!!  Must admit I took to allowing the computer to generate the oppositions score as the temptation to do that whenever it looked like I might be in danger was too much.
Yes that was it! Good times.
I was never really into computer games, but that was one I played often in my pre-commitment days. Even though I was **** at it.

But it is - perfectly legitimate dismissal- end of. Smile
Brian Lara cricket, Many hours spent playing that back in the day!
I used to play cricket with two dice in my teens, one per batsman. 1-4 & 6 were runs and 5 was a lost life. Players had up to four lives. No wonder I got **** GCSE's.
