Anyone giving lifts to the game? Or looking for one?
Is the away bus not running, or has it ceased to be a thing? Since it stopped getting put on here I don't see it.

Not that I do aways, but still, I enjoyed seeing the bus full of names and tipping my proverbial hat to those who can travel.
No it's just cars this week. I'm sorted now Smile

As long as you’re ok Neil.  Tongue
Are you and Dug going?
I bet there isn't a 70 minute queue for food and beer tomorrow night.

It is a huge shame the Trust have stopped trying with coaches now. I find it crazy when we used to get 350 at C********m we’d get 35-40 going on basically every coach, now we’re averaging more than double the home gates the away following has almost ceased.
I expect the fact half of those who went on the trust coaches are now arranging their own coach has something to do with it. Oh and the fact we haven't won away in a month of Sundays

As the person who used to organise the home and away coaches for most of our tenure at C********m, I'll have to pull you up there mate. Unless we went on an exceptional winning run (rare at Gloucester City I know) we used to do an away coach every couple of months normally. We just couldn't get the numbers for more often. Always needed 35/40 to break even.

I do agree though that with current attendances you'd hope we'd be able to fill one most games. The thing is though, those 350 fans at Whaddon were nearly all hardcore fans; they had to be to travel that far to a home game. Of our 800 gates now, we probably still only have 350 hardcore fans, with the rest being locals interested to see a game, kids teams, etc.

I don't make away games these days any more (family blah blah blah) but I do understand why the coaches split into 2 (young fans/drinkers vs quieter fans wanting to get home quick was always an issue in my day too). But it doesn't surprise me neither can get great numbers now. Would be good to pull the two groups back together in for the sake of getting everyone travelling again.
I hold my hands up and say this is probably my fault. I tried this season for the first 4 or 5 games and the most number of bookings I got was 8. Coach prices are so high now, you pretty much need to completely fill a coach at £25/30 a seat to have a chance. The TEOSC have been running travel more successfully as they have a committed 16 plus, so a minibus is an option sometimes, but many of the older ones (including Neil Smile ) understandably require a bit more comfort, so we’ve been a million miles away from a full 34/49 seater.
This, allied to the fact I’ve got a new job means I just don’t have the time to spend 10hrs arranging a coach that gets cancelled 3 days before every game.

If anyone else fancies taking it on I’ll do all i can to help!
