There are loads of people in Gloucester who support them but wouldn't dreaming of supporting their home town club. This is a big **** you to all of them.
Poor souls are only supporting a L2 team now, whilst we are SPL. Bit of a hollow gloat.
And? A bigger gap between us would have been even worse for our club.

15 seasons at level 6 and we never looked like closing the gap except possibly during null and void.
We don't really have much of a rivalry with them - if you look on their (odd) forum we've never been mentioned, whereas the true enemy makes mention of us every so often on theirs even though we haven't played them in a competitive game for years. The joke is that both clubs imagined themselves in the Championship. Delusional, except to some of their more sensible supporters.
I feel totally different about CT and FGR.
I always want CT to lose because of rivalry but I bear them no malice.
I want FGR to lose because I dislike them and everything thing they stand for, and gain far more pleasure from their relative demise.

I think you're getting it wrong - 1 or 2 delusional supporters might think we can get to the Championship because Yeovil, Wycombe and Burton have in recent years But the vast majority are more sensible than that.
With that being said, whilst I don't think I'll ever witness it, until Saturday, we really were only one great season away from it.
As for rivalries - for me and people my age and over, Gloucester is the rival. It always will be. However, I'm 40 in August and am very much one of a dying breed. There are 23/24 year olds who won't even be aware of the old rivalry now. Adults who have only seen us have one season outside of the Football League. Some of us can remember our roots, but I'd argue that the majority of our fans are barely even aware of it at times.

We're literally mentioned in the description of one of the boards on the Robins Nest.
Our rivalry with C********m is more than just football though, it's a city v town thing and being separated by a couple of miles of straight road. We have a cathedral, an airport, a proper river, cheese, literal docks and we're the county town. C********m has a weird statue and a horse. You can absolutely guarantee that the day we next play each other it will be treated like the derby that it is.

That comes from the groundshare and is not really anything to do with the rivalry between the teams.
I agree with Charlie by the way - apart from C********m just having a weird statue and a horse. It's also home to the county's only Football League team - but you knew that already
