Cheers for the heads up Greybeard, watched second half of the Arsenal game, what a terrible pitch. Then a bit of Bobby and Nobby in the Preston match.
And no, that's not a euphemism.

You'd think they'd change the games. Make it a bit more interesting.

Remember when before the Premier League era, ITV showed what was then First Division Matches. ITV showed matches on a Sunday afternoon. Watched Arsenal vs Tottenham at Highbury, think Arsenal won 2-0, Ian Wright scoring a goal.
ITV showed midweek matches, recall watching Liverpool vs Arsenal at Anfield. Ray Parlour making his debut for Arsenal giving away a penalty in a 2-0 defeat.
BBC showed UEFA Cup matches and ITV European Cup matches. One midweek, in an earlier Kick off, the BBC were showing Liverpool vs someone at Anfield in the UEFA Cup. Think Liverpool won 6-1 in the end. Turned over to ITV during this match to watch Arsenal Vs Austria Vienna in the European Cup at Highbury. Arsenal won 6-1 with Alan Smith scoring a Hatrick. These matches were toward the start of the 1991/92 season. Arsenal recently signed Ian Wright from Crystal Palace, he was cuptied for the European games.

I used to enjoy the Central Match live that they used to show on Sunday's that you could watch while Sky were doing their two hours of bluster leading up to their 4pm kick off.

I forgot ITV showing a match on a Sunday. Football Italia on Channel 4 too.
A rarity to get football on a non subscription channel now. Just the odd FA Cup match. I’m trying desperately hard to avoid paying for the sports channels but it’s so tempting!

AC Milan were the team to beat, players like George Weah, Paulo Maldini, Marco Van Bastien etc. Think Sampdoria had Des Walker and David Platt. Watching Italian football seemed more defensive and slower build ups.

Used to love Football Italia, firstly the Sunday morning incarnation and then later after the Football League show in the early hours of the morning when coming home as a pissed student . Roma were my team, Montella ‘the little aeroplane’. There was one week where Edgar Davids scored a ludicrous goal, thunderbolt from 50 yards or something like that.
