Shame on me for thinking we’d lose today, and at 2-0 down I really thought we’d get battered, but **** me what character the lads showed, someone with better tactical knowledge than me will explain what changed but whatever it was someone condense it and inject it into my veins. If there was ever a time when you can say that we let the football do the talking then that was it. We’re contenders.

Darlo could match us on points, but if they win all their matches in hand their goal difference would be better than ours.

If I can correct you DB, York and Boston's games in hand include one against each other - so only one of those teams can overtake us on points. Can I suggest you take up Suduko in your retirement, keep your number skills sharp

Hence my &/or
Fantastic result for GCAFC, brilliant to get the win after being 2-0 early on. A good start to Paul Grove's managerial position at GCAFC.
Great spirit to come back from the dead, and send a two fingered message to the club's naysayers.

First twenty we looked overwhelmed, half asleep and scared to play the ball around. Like a team of strangers. Missed Daly at the back - with him I doubt they would have been allowed that header, or be given time in the box to place a shot in the corner. Luckily we woke up before they got a third, which could have happened.

During the onslaught I thought two players battled well for City - Josh Thomas repelled attacks down their right and played in some good balls, and Matty McClure defended well from the front, I don't think he gets enough credit for that part of his game. We got a lifeline and with it confidence and started to play the ball around and keep possession. We look so much better when we do that.

We came out slowly again for the second half and it could easily have been 1-3, before we took control. Great play for the second goal, from the switch of play through to the textbook striker's finish, and a great strike from Young which for us would usually have bounced the wrong side of the line - maybe we're getting the rub of the 4G this year?

Another solid display from Rhys, particularly good handling towards the end when holding onto thunderbolts. When strikers see a goalkeeper doing that they know its not their day. Liked the way that Tommy O'S is starting to step up from the shadows and become one of the leaders of the team - lots of the play was built up around him. Jack James worked and battled hard on their left, where Kiddy were particularly dangerous and seemed to have an overlap. Not sure why - maybe we're going to miss Forrest Gump more than I thought, he would have been closing down and giving JJ a bit more protection.

In these times, games like that can lift your spirits and keep you going. Footballers are like the 7th emergency service (behind ambulance, fire, police, roadside recovery, take-aways and off licenses)
After what's gone on over the last couple of weeks that was special, like everyone else 15min in I thought the worse then everything started to click. McClure did brilliant to set up the first, great team play especially from the two Coventry lads for the second and a peach of a free kick.

Second half we played some lovely football and yes there were a couple of scary moments as there is in any game but we were the better team.

So pleased for AP, For Paul Groves, for the team and for all those in the background who work for the club. The wine tastes even better tonight.
Paul Groves summed up the game in his post match interview for me ,spot on ?loved the way we did not cave in when two nil down and fought back into the game before H/T. Thought that the second half we started to pass the ball abit like we did before all of the problems of the last few weeks.
Great credit to the team and manager for a well deserved three points and great entertainment.

Well done to all, even the stewards when our goal's went in,good to see most jumping up and down and acting like loons?
