What's the clubs position on the Her Game Too initiative? FGR one of the latest on board
I'm a Dad with a teenage daughter so it really resonates with me personally.

I’d say establishing two ladies football teams and a professional ladies basketball team under the Gloucester Sport banner shows the club’s commitment. Far more proactive than ironing a badge onto the sleeve of the shirts.
I would suggest there is more to the campaign than simply ironing on patches to shirts. Of course I agree with your observations about the creation of the three teams. You could add to that the increased number of ladies involved in the day to day running of the club too; far more than there was when the team last played at Meadow Park. I also agree whole heartedly with the premise of actions speaking louder than words.
The campaign though is about raising an awareness throughout the game that sexism does exist and needs to be addressed both on and importantly off the field. From what I can see our club have and are taking strides to be inclusive. However, this does not necessarily mean that we do not also lend our support to the wider objectives of the campaign; hence my asking the question. It may well be that the decision is that while we support the goals of the campaign (it is hard to imagine that many folk would not) we chose not to join the campaign itself. Perhaps it's a question to be considered and addressed by the supporters groups; I don't know, but I do feel the question is worth asking.
I don’t really understand the question … but as we’ve the only fully professional women’s sports team in the queens within the group and that inc Bristol City Women’s etc in the whole South West I’d suggest we’re at the pointy end of women’s sport.
If you want to know more about our own women’s football team … as an example we’re the only (I think) team at our level and more then likely one if not two above, that doesn’t charge the women’s team a penny in the whole county to play. They are treated the same as the men’s and u21’s, other then the fact they have jobs as they aren’t full time like the men’s team … but I want them up the pyramid as fast as possible and out of county football as soon as they can. That’s done to results!! And Chris Hill is aware of my expectations.
Are we aware of the campaign yes … do I think we’re already excelling and more … yes. But sadly I agree with Dave, lots will iron a badge on to a shirt in support, we’d rather lead with actions.
But if you want to ask a question feel free. But I don’t really understand what you’re asking above, as I don’t think we can do much more in truth. Now it’s down to the girls and ladies to win games, as the rest will follow.
Goals for the queens is to get into the play off and try and get into Europe!! Goals for the football team is promotion … They have both been backed and are pretty big goals! So yes, we are fully behind the inclusion within sport.

My personal opinion on this is that whilst is massively commendable that a group of female football fans have sought to bring about change, these sorts of campaigns rarely do. Are the aims laudable, absolutely. Does anything tangible arise from them though. Personally I don't think anything meaningful will happen in this space until their is more equality from governing bodies. Same prize money at fa cups, World cups, same pay structures for national teams will all achieve many many times more than any campaign regardless of how well intentioned the campaign is.

Well said Alex. Fashionable campaigns are simply that, next month there'll be some other perceived wrong to right. It's what you do that matters. Would be good to have a female view on this.
Message from Chris Hill below:
Evening AP, on the forum you can also state that we have approached the campaign with the idea of support at the beginning of the season and as yet we've had no response from the organsisers of the campaign.
Also its not just the playing teams we have, behind the scenes we have a fitness coach, s and c coach, physio and nutrionist. Plus female coaches assisting with the academy currently with more roles likely to be available in the near future (soccer schools etc)
…..
Thanks folks

Thank you for your replies.
For clarity, I did not and have not suggested that the playing and support sides of the club are anything other than inclusive. I also noted earlier in the thread that 'actions speak louder than words'. My question was whether the club had a view on supporting the campaign itself and both the club and I believe trust have answered my question.
