Is it just me or this guy seriously overrated?
I've seen him play a fair few times and I just don't understand why so many other professionals of the game talk him up.
Have not really seen too much of him to have an opinion. Perhaps it's because he's English, experts see potential and want him to succeed for Club and Country.
When Frank Lampard was Chelsea manager, he had the nucleus of a young team. Also when Frank was at Derby, he had Mason Mount on loan.
I think he's a pretty tidy player, he does a good job of linking defence to attack especially for England as they play with a double pivot in midfield and he's also good in his pressing which is important in the modern game. He chips in with the assists and the odd goal, I don't think he's ever going to be a 15 goal a season midfielder or anything like that but he definitely contributes in that area.

He is almost too versatile, he receives passes well in any area of the pitch and has the awareness and ability to move the ball quickly and forward- keeping the momentum going. He makes good runs, he presses well and has good defensive awareness (Lampard often used to play him deep at Derby) for an attacking midfielder. But he’s not a great long passer and his dribbling isn’t great so comparing him to Grealish or Foden is pointless, but he is a good team player. Saying that, when it matters- i.e. vs Italy in the Euros final, he was woefully ineffective IMO.

Messi was quoted as saying he has the potential to be one of the best,I can see that about Phil foden but not Mount.
Picked up a hat trick today, maybe he will get 15 goals after all! lol.
I had a free £5 bet that I used on Chelsea to beat Norwich 6-0. I was cursing him for missing the penalty.
