Pitch inspection 10.45 per the Olveston website.  They say they are 'hopeful'.

Game on - albeit elsewhere!!

Olveston twitter reads "Home pitch is OFF! Boooo (Halloween pun intended) …

HOWEVER we have moved the game to 3G pitch at
@CSSsportscentre
(BS37 6ES)"
Does anyone know the result of the under 21s game yesterday morning against Sillihill or Solihull can't find it anywhere.
Lost by two late goals I believe.

Back to the topic of this thread!

The score book will show a 2-0 win to the home team but our overall performance on what was a really unforgiving 3G pitch deserved much more. Our opponents, flying high in the league at the moment and last years Div 2 champions I was told, were made to work for the win. We are coming together more and more as a unit each week, the battling and resilient qualities we've seen all season remain but we are becoming much more creative and harder to break down. We had our chances, though on a surface where the ball rolled away incredibly quickly so it was not easy to be creative. On occasion it was a little like chasing an ice hockey puck! Mistakes though continue to cost us dearly; the second goal in particular was a gift for our opponents.

We drove back home disappointed that we had not got a point but pleased that the team have taken a step forwards again.

The match itself was delayed in the second half when an Olveston player went down with what looked like a nasty injury. She was being taken off to the hospital as we left the ground; a message has been put on Twitter to wish her well.

Respect to Olveston for getting the game on despite the weather. City go again next week with heads held high. Our days will come.

As an aside, I've read a lot of the recent posts elsewhere on the forum. We are proud to call ourselves fans of Gloucester City Womens FC and have much respect for all the work that goes on to get matches on and to build our team. Despite the results sometimes, it's been a joy to follow them this season. The culture I see is positive, strong and resilient.

Looks like they’re learning from the First Team?
Top post Stable Lad. So glad the women's team is improving match by match as it clearly is. If our Club is to prosper we need strength and togetherness throughout all the teams who represent us. That way we become greater than the sum of our parts.
What happened to the girl that signed for Bristol city, think she was called Noemi,how is she getting on do you know?

Still playing for Bristol City. She made 10 starts in the Super League last season for them. Naomi Layzell
Yes, she started for them today. Bristol City got relegated last season, so they're in the second tier. She's now a regular starter - Incredible achievement considering her age.
