Glad we're off the bottom of the table but my Dad was from Blyth and as a kid I watched them a few times, so it's got me thinking. Not wishing too much ill on the unfortunate who would you be content to see go down? As a new season ticket holder I'm getting to know the other clubs. Hereford give us a derby so I'm so far not too bothered about them. Personally I'd go for Telford and their rabble of supporters. Any thoughts?
Purely on fairness, i’d say Blyth as they’ve dodged the drop the last two seasons off the back of Covid. Long, expensive trip too. That said, they’re a nice bunch.
Having looked at the National League North table, the team that could maybe go down is Farsley Celtic. We beat them 2 - 0 at New Meadow Park last Saturday. They brought down little or no away support. Yorkshire has loads of clubs at this level and above. I might be wrong, you have Guiseley, Bradford Park Avenue, FC Halifax, Harrogate Town, York City, Bradford City, Barnsley, Doncaster Rovers, Rotherham United, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds United. Think the County of Yorkshire have more than enough teams.
Been to Blyth's Croft Park twice. Enjoyed my visits there, friendly people. I have enjoyed going to AFC Telford United's New Bucks Head, a short trip.
I'd like Blyth to stay up (with us) - primarily because of their association with Viz Comic.
I saw a woman wearing a Blyth Spartans top with the Viz logo as shirt sponsoir in Niagara Falls in 1994.
