Whether we like it or not, a notable day in local football.
Forest Green Rovers were playing in the Gloucestershire County league the same season as Derby County were Champions of England, and its not that long ago. Today the former sits above the latter in the Football League, extolling the wonders of the football pyramid, and the reason why the hackers of Blakeney Town 'C' will always have a chance of European football outside of a post season tour of Magalluf, when more players were vomiting on the pitch than scoring.
I can't think of a bigger differential over a similar time period, unless Tim Clark can tell me otherwise.
3-3 in end could have been 6-6
Scorers McClure Tomlinson James.
For those on Twitter, The Voice of the T-End have posted an incredibly in depth preview of the season ahead, taking each team in turn and analysing their ins, outs and prospects.
Must have taken Mr Warrior untold hours to research, and it’s a great read.

Club have posted up the 1883 Bar will be open to show the match. It should be an absolute cracker and who knows. One to go.

Signs on a one year deal after impressing on trial against hungerford and bath.
Fantastic signing. Experienced GK at this level. Got 2 really good keepers now.
Not for me, but a few looking for lifts to get to Saturday’s last friendly. (Trains aren’t a decent option)
If anyone has room in their car, and wants to split fuel costs, post on here and we’ll try and get everyone there!
Please enter our Gloucester City Mission Fantasy Footy League and/or share.
This year’s Premier League Fantasy Football will be kicking off soon.
To enter just follow this direct link to the enter our league-
( the league code is jj48fm) and please make a suggested donation of £5 (or more) towards our work. You can donate by texting GlosCityMission5 to 70085, or online at https://www.justgiving.com/gloucestercitymission or via the Facebook donate button.
The league is just for fun and doesn't offer a prize (although I will be able to find an exclusive GCM mug if the winner would like one)- it is mainly just the bragging rights of winning, plus it raises some money to help with our outreach work.
Don’t forget we will be having a Sleepout in The T End again this year.

Between the season opener in Darlo on 6th, and Hereford on the 29th, we have 6 games in 23 days in August.
18 points on offer, facing :-
Darlo away,
Boston home,
Peterborough Sports home,
Blyth away,
Brackley home,
Hereford away.
How many points will we be on entering September?
I’m going for 12.
Should be a useful run out - they will probably be a sterner test than Hungerford.

Staines Town, one time Conference South who we last met in an FA Cup qualifier in 2015, have given up the unequal struggle...
