NLN Watch - charlie - 22-10-2021

Thought there was already a similar thread to talk about news from around the league but can't find it.

Paul Cox (who I know a lot of people wanted as our next manager) looks like he might be the new Telford manager.... A lot of people at Kettering haven't got a who whether he'll be in charge tomorrow, but sounds like Dennis Greene will be in the Telford dugout tomorrow whatever happens. Also seen a couple of rumours online about Ed Williams potentially joining them on loan. Hopefully that just stays as a rumour but if Doncaster are looking to loan him out.... ticks all the boxes.

RE: NLN Watch - Alex Petheram - 22-10-2021

We looked at being in Ed on loan, as he’s been circulated around the league by Doncaster … but we couldn’t match the asking price.

I was looking the other day and Ed is lucky if he makes the bench at Doncaster, and he never gets on the pitch. Going out on loan will be good for him.

RE: NLN Watch - Darran - 22-10-2021

Cox has turned down Telford to stay at Kettering.

Adam Lakeland (Farsley manager) has gone to Curzon Ashton. Also sounds like Telford have appointed Dennis Greene, but the statement is very strangely worded.

Written in an old Salopian dialect?

Those two guys are interim. They are posting an advert to fill the vacancy. Don't seem in any rush....

Telford also interviewed John Askey,I'd never heard of him so looked him up,very decent record and could be an option for us in the future ( hopefully won't need to be)

Surprised he’s looking to go down to our level and that he then didn’t get the job if he wanted it. Still not sure how he managed to get Macclesfield to win the title given they were skint and weren’t playing the players wages on time.

RE: NLN Watch - Si Robin - 29-10-2021

Leaving Macclesfield has really damaged his stock. He went into a no win situation at Shrewsbury who had just made the playoffs in League One, completely surprisingly, and then had an expectation they didn't really warrant. He then went to Vale, whose fans turn on a manager at the drop of a hat. He seems to have garnered a reputation there of being a bit too nice, and only having one game plan.
