Next Season

Well assuming we are in the Southern League next season and MC stays on as manager what players will we keep? Clearly those on contract plus Emmett assuming they want to stay of course....

I’m not even sure they would want to stay, have you seen what some of our newer ‘fans’ have been saying about Spencer’s wife on social media?

Next season seems a long way away at the moment but it is a concern. We’ve got players on contracts but how many of them will want to stay and play for us regardless of what division we’re in after what’s gone on this season?

We’ve already heard that ex-players have been putting players off signing for us, and recent stories of our players not being paid currently won’t help either. The treatment of Joe Parker was embarrassing and seen by a hell of a lot of people, a minority of fans seem to get on the players backs immediately at any set back, and just the general circus around the club it pains me to say but I certainly wouldn’t be signing for us. I can see a scenario where we’re having to rip up and start again this summer (again!).

Agree with this. There are so many variables it doesn’t seem worth speculating at this stage.

If there's still a club next year then it'll be exactly the same as last pre-season where we've pretty much got to bring in a whole new squad, only this time it'll be with less money.

Wouldn't surprise me if some of our local players go back to Chippenham, I'm sure their fans weren't sending abuse to players' families.

The club certainly seems poisoned at this moment and it's hard to see anything other than a complete rebuild next season.......

It really is appalling that the club have to block some of our younger fans from our social media for sending abuse to the captain's wife.

Back on topic - if we get relegated, I'd keep all players who wanted to stay. Most are up to this level, so they'd be a strong side in the league below.

Of course many would go (not sure about the 2/3 year contract players), but hopefully we'd replace them with players experienced at that level.
