The late, great Eartha Kitt (no Cockney slang) once played at Whitcombe Lodge in Brockworth  - probably a slight comedown after Las Vegas, but on finishing her set felt peckish, so a local taxi driver took her to Ruddy's fish & chips in Hucclecote. They did. At the Regal cinema (Wetherspoons) on 18 March 1963. I'm annoyed my parents didn't take me there in my pram to see them.
