Leaving Macclesfield has really damaged his stock.  He went into a no win situation at Shrewsbury who had just made the playoffs in League One, completely surprisingly, and then had an expectation they didn't really warrant.  He then went to Vale, whose fans turn on a manager at the drop of a hat.
