Glad I stopped watching the Premier League a long time ago. It will probably be a success as they don't care about the UK market. Hopefully it will mean people go and watch their local non-league side instead.

It's like Channel 4's Italian league years ago, they had pick the best players ever from any league, snotty nosed 15 year olds every time, Baresi, Maldini and about 7 others from that time and league!
When I first saw the English league games, Blackpool, Preston,Bolton, Burnley were the Big shots, this lot wanting to break away were propping up the second division!
How things change!

BBC reporting that Chelsea and Man City looking to pull out of the proposed new league.
News stories breaking all over the bbc sport website tonight. Worth a look if you are following the story from meetings to resignations. A phrase relating to a pack of cards springs to mind.

If they are going to cave this quickly it just hammers home it was a power play rather than a serious venture. Its backfired massively and looks like there will be some casuslties (Woodward being the first), hard to feel sorry for them.

I was told many years ago, have nothing to do with the law, barristers or judges, one were liars the other were crooks, wonder what this one is or what planet he is on?
MADRID (AP) — A Spanish judge on Tuesday issued a preliminary ruling stopping FIFA and UEFA from taking any immediate action or making statements against the Super League.
The ruling from a mercantile court in Madrid said the soccer governing bodies must refrain from “directly or indirectly” hindering the creation of the breakaway European league.
Judge Manuel Ruiz de Lara ordered FIFA and UEFA to “refrain from taking any measure or action, or from issuing any statement, which prevents or hinders, directly or indirectly, the preparation of the European Super League.”
The 15-page ruling with precautionary measures, issued after a request by the Super League, said FIFA, UEFA and its members — including federations, clubs and domestic leagues — can't threaten or sanction players and teams in the new competition.
