Not in the same stratosphere but there was a fella who played for Swindon, Bristol City and Brentford among others who worked at our place for a few months. He was fucking huge. Didn't speak much. Matt something, centre half.

Can’t remember his last name but scored a lot of goals from centre back,shaven head,that’s going to bug me now until I remember his surname!

Not football related but when I was about 12 and my dad was racing triathlons for GB we went to Club la Santa in Tenerife and saw Frank Bruno sparring in the ring..We got invited in and had a few pics and threw a few punches, absolutely great bloke and all his crew.

Ive seen Glen Hoddle,Nigel Spackman and Dave Beasent eating in a restaurant where I live but didn’t talk to them,then a few years later saw Dave Beasent in a bar and had a good chat with him,top bloke really down to earth,was no surprise that his son was popular with you guys if he was as sound as his old man.

Like a lot of people that used to go down the old car boot at the now flattened cattle market I often saw Ernie Hunt the ex 
Coventry city player .He scored a goal that once got BBC' s goal of the season one year, When Willie Carr flicked the ball up at a free kick just out side the box and Ernie volleyed it into the net

My late father-in-law played for Swansea Town Reserves in the late 1940s. Part of his duties there involved cleaning the boots of the first-team after matches, including those of Roy Paul who was capped over 30 times by Wales, and who later joined Manchester City. My father-in-law also played for Ammanford FC in the Welsh League.
