Tamworth tonight

Looking at the goal one of the defenders has just stopped and given the scorer a free run in. A costly lapse.

A month ago I would not have given us a chance against Southport or Tamworth away in their forma but we nearly took a point, let alone a 3-0 home win,Cook Will always have his teams organized and when he gets some of the injured players back we Will draw or win these games.

That’s why I don’t think we are good enough to see it out at the moment and it’s a big issue that we barely looked like scoring

Not sure it’s a question of not being good enough. I thought we defended very well throughout the game. However if you set up to defend for 90 minutes then it only takes one mistake to concede at this level, and that’s what happened. I agree though that it is an issue that we barely looked like scoring.

That’s what I mean though. We defended really well especially in the first half, but you need to be switched on for the whole 90 and we aren’t quite there yet. Also jeacock got lucky with the spilt ball for the offside goal

Lets not forget Tamworth have only conceded 7 goals this season( Least goals in the north/south, so It was always going to be an uphill struggle, losing DW before ko and Smalley Didnt help matters.
We need to win the bottom half of the table by the looks of It.

As things stand I'll take winning the battle of the bottom five!

If we're going to set up to be hard to beat, we need Danny Wright or a similar player in the team who can hold the ball up and give our defence a break.

I do think Harry Williams can get us goals, but not as a lone striker with no service. Looked like he was playing with a knock and he could barely stay on his feet at the final whistle - does worry me how thin this squad is. We've got McDonald, Ram, Leeson and others who can play RB, but up front we're struggling for numbers.

Whilst I would love to agree with Elliot Durrell’s view of the Tamworth game, unfortunately Mike Cook’s interpretation is nearer the truth.

Ten a penny. Strikers are more expensive.

There was a young striker at Bristol City a few years back who I thought might be a good fit, went to Ireland, haven't heard of him since.
