Beer and flags revisited
#1

What has happened with the Gloucester Brewery deal? At the Blyth Spartans match I was told by the person serving in the kiosk by the club shop that they were still serving Greene King beers.

Is this because we're still contracted to use their beers until the end of the season and the Gloucester Brewery beers will kick in then, or is the GB deal not happening now?

The large flags that were present at the Hereford match. Don't think they've appeared since? Any reason?

Thumbs Down

On the flag front, we had an issue with a pole at the Southport game and then it was too windy for the Blyth game, we did try to get them up but the one nearly blew off so we thought better of it. We, as TEO-SC, will endeavour to have them up at every home game, conditions-depending ofcourse! ?

Pretty sure that GB was a few beers to supplement the other stuff? You wouldn’t want an entire selection made only of GB as for starters there would be no cider or soft drinks and also you’d not make nearly as much money. It’s just been done as a sweetener to keep a group of fans happy I suspect.

If they supplied the whole lot, they'd simply be buying it off someone like GK, marking it up and then selling it on. It's nice to have a local company supplying a few lines, but you also need a major distributor, who has a greater choice (and substantially cheaper prices!).

Hopefully the flags will make an appearance for Saturdays massive game!

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

Well, there was already a beer thread asking the same question but as usual it went off into other things - without an answer!
