Remember when we had to rebuild with Burnsy's youth teamers with an entire budget of £500 per week!

Of course many would go (not sure about the 2/3 year contract players), but hopefully we'd replace them with players experienced at that level.

If they were up to this level we wouldn't be in this situation unfortunately. Especially with the remarks that they don't care. A bad team doesn't just become good, don't forget we've lost to teams a league below is in the cup this season.

We also lost to a team from the Southern League in the 20/21 season to be fair, and that "finished" with us top of the table.

Morale seems to be rock bottom for various reasons.

A lot of the players are local... Danny Wright, Hanks, Hamilton, Parker, Duffus, Harry Emmett, and I'm sure there's probably others. They might stay potentially, some of them might decide it isn't worth the abuse that seems to have become commonplace here and go elsewhere, Danny Wright might call it a day.

On the other hand, we might see local players at the level below return to us...Danny King, Noah Smerdon, Sam Turl.

Do people go up to the fans who are abusing players during games to call them out? I see a lot of stuff on here but I wonder whether they’re called out in person?

Why should the onus be on other fans to create conflict at a match? Come on Charlie you are better than this.

The issue is that for the most part they stand in a large bunch in the T End which can be intimidating for anyone to approach. The stewards we have are sometimes young people themselves, so I don't think it's fair to put them in a position where they can be abused or worse. The perpetrators are the same idiots responsible for other incidents - I heard one of the bumfluff bravados laughing about bouncing a coke can off a Braintree supporter's head when leaving the ground when we played them. We don't need these type of people and they should be banned, but given that we can't even supply toilet rolls, adequate security and making the ground a safe place seems to be beyond the current set up.

Sorry Paul, but I don't get this attitude. Football grounds are not supposed to be classical theaters. Its these "bunch" in the T-end that spend the most money, create the atmosphere by noise, flags & banners etc and will be there whatever the division the club finds themselves in. Supporting Football will be a dire lack luster affair if clubs continually ban people for trivial nonsense.

I don't call bouncing coke cans off someone's head trivial nonsense. The noise, flags, chants etc are what make the atmosphere and I'm not decrying that at all. I'm talking about the idiots that think they're reenacting Green Street and the bad old days of the 70s and 80s that I have personal experience of from old First Division games. Youthful exuberance is one thing. Throwing punches and drink cans in another.

If you have experience of the old days Paul, then you should know that its nothing like that at MP! Your always going to get some boisterous behavior at football matches mate, and some people take it too far, and often regret it after's. Its a passionate heated sport on and off the pitch. Sad day if this also get's pushed out in the lower divisions.
