I heard on the Radio recently that Australian Soap Opera 'Neighbours', is going to be scrapped. It has been on the air for 37 years. I used to watch it on BBC 1, at 5::30pm, after coming home from School. (Although, I don't watch any Soap Operas now).
Neighbours was the starting point for Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Guy Pearce, Natalie Imbrulia etc. They went onto becoming Big in Music, Film and Theatre.
Stefan Dennis, who plays Paul Robinson, is the programmes Ken Barlow, Ian Beale. (Been on the programme since day one). The Hotel Owner, looking to making deals.
Characters I used to like were, Henry Ramsey (Craig McLaughlin), and Harold Bishop, who was known as Jelly Belly.
What used to make me smile, was when someone was about to leave the house, they would open the door, and someone was on the other side just about to knock on it.
A case of G'Day 'Neighbours', or is it Goodbye.
Also remember Joe and Mrs Mangel, Classic characters. Then there was the Blakeney Twins, (the Highlight of watching Neighbours). They haven't altered, still look great.
