News (below) from the BBC that the results will be read no more.

Such disappointing news. Saturday afternoon post match was all part of the football day.  The Sports Report music and the reading of the classified results were integral parts of a Saturday. Yes, things change and move on, but in my opinion change is not always for the best; tradition and history must count for something

Memories for me of my late Grand father sat at the kitchen table, radio on and checking his pools coupon along with thousands of others up and down the land.

Before anyone says it, yes I know James AG passed away some years ago but for those of us of a certain generation  he was the voice of post match Saturday afternoons

It’ll be football programmes next!!!

I also miss telegrams, gramophones, penny farthings and ear trumpets, but you can’t stop progress! Big Grin

I find it hard to believe that they cut something so simple on a station that has to find content to broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
