Rowe can’t have anything to do with work whilst he is on furlough so unless it was sorted out before he went on furlough then it will be Alex’s work.
How can he be sorting out the contract if he can’t have anything to do with work while being furloughed?
Do managers normally sort out contracts?

Yes because it is surely up to Rowe how he spends the budget that Alex has given him. The manager is the one who will talk and sell the club to the player and say why they want to sign him and then offer him a deal. James will know how many players he wants and how he wants to spend the money. Would be very strange if Alex has just taken it upon himself to suddenly start signing players. It's probably something Glenn Tamplin did at Billericay.

Well it's his money he is spending and I don't think he would let anyone loose with the cheque book with out his say so, I did look on Solihul website and they have released 16 players, perhaps some of them would fit the bill for us. With Liam Daley once their captain and now ours who knows. He may be signing players early to give Darren time to dig up the dirt on them.

Let’s hope that Daly can put a word in for us to Danny Wright!
Supposedly squads will be smaller next season with the possibility of 5 subs to be used during a game so it’s definitely quality over quantity I’d say.

That’s not what I said Ken. Alex sets the budget and then it is the managers job to spend it as he sees fit. I don’t dig the dirt on any players I just give people the facts if I know about the player we’ve signed. If I think it’s a good signing I will say so as I have done in the past when we signed McClure and Daly. I also said mensah could be the best player in the division if he found his old Aldershot form.
Wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if Alex has gone and signed Wright to try and appease those fans who aren’t happy about Spencer and Joe leaving.  Good signing though if it is him

We’ve always had a small squad though so not much will change on that front if that’s what happens.

So unhappy when players leave, ditto when there's the possibility of a new signing.

And again the very positive progress on the ground is hijacked by negativity.

How’s that a negative comment? Just stating what was said in the blog. Everyone was saying it was great that we would be waiting to sign people and it was the sensible thing to do. Now it looks like we have a new signing everyone is now happy it’s happening. Seems pretty contradictory to me. I thought we would be waiting for Rowe to come off furlough to sign players so surprised Alex is taking it upon himself to sign them. Personally it’s not something I’m comfortable with as I view that as a mangers role. I’m hardly Rowes biggest fan but I would rather he was in control of things managers should be in control of.

He is in control. Its stated quite clearly that he drew up a player wishlist before he was furloughed. All AP has said is that a player/s have been made offers, obviously in line with the set wage budget. JR is the manager and picks the team, the Chairmen control the purse strings.
I would have thought that was a pretty standard way for a club to run?

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

Yes he gave him a list but did that list say how much to offer them? Did he know who was going to become available? The chairmen give a budget and then it’s up to the manager to spend it as he sees fit. Chairman’s dealings should end from when he gives the budget to the manager in my view.

No disrespect to Joe and Spencer, but signing a player of Wright's experience would probably cover for everyone who's left plus the twelve years we've spent in exile!

Exciting times are a coming!
