Ashton Gate

Off to Ashton Gate next month to watch the Lionesses in the Arnold Clark Cup.  Would appreciate any advice on car parking there please? Not a ground I've visited for a good many years.  Thank you.

Is this the Belgium game? We're off to that too. When we've been for events we usually park up in the side streets behind the stadium about 10 minutes walk away but I think this is going to be even busier than a Bristol City home game, so I'm not sure. Let me know when you find out Smile

I'm also going - booked parking through Bristol Sport. Really expensive but my daughter's only 6 so the less hassle on the day, the better

Dave - maybe we could share a car? Where do you live?

I've posted up the question on a Lionesses fan site and the replies are coming in and I'll share them on here later.

Shandy its a good idea but there's good chance we might be visiting Grandma on the way to the game.

The replies mention Ashton Event parking which is scarily expensive.  There's apparently a park and ride close to the ground or Bedminster Cricket Club open for some games.

As was the case for many, though not all  of the Euro games we went too the car parking costs as much as the tickets!! Arnold Clark final last year was at Wolves, plenty of local not over priced NCP places just walk away.

Still if we have as much fun this time as last time then it'll be well worth it.

Bit the bullet, paid the Ashton Event parking and was expecting email confirmation. Usually all done instantly but nothing from them. Have now asked them to confirm when it'll be issued. Will update you when I can.

OK.  So I had a problem where I paid them.but didn't get QR code needed to get into car park.  Just had call from them and all sorted.  If you've a BT or virgin email sometimes the QR code emails bounce back so if you are one of the unlucky ones give them a shout via their website and they'll sort it.  No clue how good car park is but after a worry yesterday  pleasantly surprised with service they gave this morning. ..still v expensive though!!

How much?

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

It amazes me that people go to medium to big events in their droves when it's such a PITA to even get out of the car when you get there. Then you get ripped off for food and drink when you get inside.

Let's say it's more than the £15 charged for Bristol City games but to be fair I get 2 matches and so car parked up for probably 8 hours somewhere safe.

I can see Neil's point of view and there have been times I've decided not to go to events because of the faff in parking the car.  But we've made so many great memories following the Lionesses and in our occasional forays to the WSL, it's all been well worth the faff.
