how many do w e still have out, Hooper, Spence, Diege plus? also i think Jack Hill should be given a chance, has played really well when he has come on. There is some talent in the youth set up surely!

There is some talent in the youth set up surely!When Kingy was appointed I did read he didn't buy in to developing youth at Dartford so it seems its not his thing, given the probable reduction in budget next season its likely that Jack Hill and perhaps a few others may become a more integral part of the squad and get more game time even from the bench.

If they aren’t good enough they they shouldn’t. It’s that simple really. No team at this level ever got promoted on the strength of their academy unfortunately.

No team at this level ever got promoted on the strength of their academy unfortunately.I'd go along with that, it would be lovely to have a continual stream of home grown talent coming through the ranks, but like you say achieving success of the back of an academy at this level is a pipe dream at best. Any truly good youngster is going to end up at one of the nearby bigger clubs unfortunately. The youth coaches obviously put in a lot of hours and I am sure do a great job, but I would see the main benefit of a decent youth structure being community engagement (an u12/13/14s player today is hopefully tomorrows fan etc), and obviously you hope to get the odd Tom Webb now and again, but to rely on it would be crazy.
