Survey Results
#11

A good initiative from the Trust which in itself shows how far it has progressed in its 'position' within the Club since the start of this season.  Credit to those who kept the flag flying.

It will be fascinating to see not only what happens  next but also how the results are communicated back and updated; life at a football club seldom stays still for long.

I don't see the results as being completely clear cut in favour over of yellow and black.  Yes its abundantly clear that its the single most popular combination, but about a third of the respondents suggested they have some affinity with red, in whatever combination.  Whilst that is technically a minority its not an insignificant one.  To go back to yellow and black off the back of these results risks repeating the mistakes of 2019 for me.

Ultimately yellow and black might end up being the right result, but I think we would need to be careful of the process to not alienate fans in the same way fans were alienated back then.

Certainly there were a lot of people in favour of red prior to the actual change, as evidenced by comments made online at the time. The manner of the change and subsequent actions have definitely turned some people away from red who were previously in favour of it.
Yet only 40% of this “hardcore” have a season ticket!? A bit of a strange definition.

I hope we don't see any supporters write off the Chambers over the colour issue.
Not sure many people will be writing off the owners based on shirt colours, it’ll be winning or otherwise that does that, they could make a good start by backing the manager & some of the very fine players he has got operating as a team ready for next season.

My concern on that one is that many of them will have already exited stage left before they even get their foot through the door.  Obviously hard to know how much contact there is between the various parties at this stage, but given they have their hands full with Hungerford to the end of the season, I am concerned that we may be starting completely afresh on a playing staff front next year.  For one I don't see how Dom McHale doesn't get a gig in the higher up next year, he's been utterly superb (being uber positive lets hope that deal is with us in the National League!).

Patrick has been named as sole director for the company for 4 weeks now, if no discussions have taken place on the potential permutations for next season and likely budgets thereafter, then already alarm bells are beginning to sound. The bulk of what happens at Hungerford from now on (and for the last 3 weeks after player registration closed) is in the hands of their manager.

How about orange as a compromise...

Seriously, the most important thing is to retain Steven King and give him the budget to create a winning side, retaining those players capable of pushing us on up, whichever league we find ourselves in next season.

I would be amazed if dialogue hasn’t been taking place between PC and SK.
Everything that goes on at our Club doesn’t need to be IMO in the public domain.

We getting this excuse trotted out again are we! The manager recruits unless we have a director of football, and then Patrick and Nicky run the club's affairs including identity

Not sure of your drift? The 'orange' was a light-hearted comment. I would have thought the retention of SK as a manager is something many City supporters could agree on?

It's much harder to get insight into the more casual supporters,  many of whom have only started going since we've returned and so will only know us in red & yellow.
Like remainers or Scottish independents, let’s keep ignoring the truth and instead push for a result that you want.

Red was probably just accepted back then as it went hand in hand with getting back home and that was the priority.
