Yes I find it hard to see Pearce still being there. I think they will still do well next season as they are well funded, but they will be rebuilding. No real surprise the manager left and to be fair he had been there a while and this wasn't the first time they made the play-offs.

talking of Worthing, did anyone here go to the FA Cup replay there in 1994? We had an advance copy of Waynes World 2 from Video Nest. Not only was it illegal but it clearly contravened the rules about showing it on coaches and oil rigs. No wonder we lost.

Did you go on an oil rig?

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

That's the key -  finance. Population size/attendance, which we often quote as a reason why we should play at a higher level is secondary to finance and a club's assets when it comes to progress. Clearly whoever funds Worthing can see potential. Do they own their own stadium?

The person who owns Worthing paid for them out of the money he got when he became disabled. He featured in an episode of The Undateables on C4. They aren't a really wealthy club, but they are decently backed and have worked their way up the leagues in a fairly sustainable fashion. As far as I know they do own the stadium.

Beyond its upkeep, owning their own stadium is quite an asset. Better than a few bibs and cones. Would be interesting to know how many clubs at that level own their own grounds.

I can't see us signing players from NL certainly not from Dartford, I wonder if they're paying accommodation or a job, hell of a commute.
Oh well life in the SLP ehhh.

Sounds like he's moving back to Somerset as that's where he's originally from.
