One of the parents worked for Mira, we got free tickets to the game and had a tour etc. last season Forest Green offered us a coaching session & free and subsidised tickets to the match. On both occasions the kids absolutely loved it.

As much as I want them to watch City, being offered these freebies for the kids at the other grounds was in the boys best interests, they had a great time. The emphasis should be on City to engage like this, control what we can control, and not for us as coaches to make a decision based on our own loyalties.

The main reason I got back into watching City was after attending a match with the team a few years back when they were just starting off led by Steve Geddes and Adam Whitmore. That was top drawer. Think we really need to get back on the community work and control what we can control.

Funny how we’re all different. When I bought our house I replaced a perfectly functional shower because it was Mira, happily pay more if I need a skip to avoid Speedy ones, and wouldn’t use Ecotricity if they offered me free power for life and a regular income paid to my bank account.

I’m probably odd. Smile

Out of town football grounds are dependably dreadful.

We win that one.
Whitminster CC will have a new club to follow

Aren't Mira C********m? My mum and dad went on a specially organised train trip to London to see a show and won a Mira shower on the train. They even had their photo in the Citizen!

There's no point blaming FGR or anyone else for aiming to attract the Gloucester public, many of whom are oblivious to the fact there is a 'proper' FC in the city. It's up to us, surely, to reach out to that public (as well as local mainstream media) and engage them so that they are keen to represent and proud to support their home City club and treat the likes of FGR with the utter indifference they deserve.

People are of course free to follow who they want. It's more the arrogance and temerity of FGR disregarding that Gloucester has its own football club, who with the right input are capable of being an EFL club and not respecting that and the catchment area. They are not a Gloucester institution - but unfortunately, as you say,  there are Gloucester people who are oblivious to our existence. Which is why more needs to be done to raise the club's profile off the pitch, and ensure success and promotion on it. It's no use thinking that we'll spend the next four or five seasons rebuilding -  yet again. The time for action is now.
