Working Parties at NMP
#11

For those able to make to on Saturday it’s a 10am start, mainly clearance/skip work and some weeding. If you have any weeding implements or weed killer feel free to bring it!

Also, if anybody has any weed killer knocking around in the shed it would be great if you brought it along. Also if you have a pair of moulded stud footy boots sling them in the car and we can do a sweep of the pitch picking up any stray bits of tape etc, get it looking perfect! Smile

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

I can free up the odd hour or two in the week; is their anything specific that needs doing?  Could make some time tomorrow.  What weeding do you want doing or is plan to spray and then remove rather than weed by hand?  Got molded boots.  These days spend time each week gardening for a children's charity and litter picking for wildlife charity so have kit....but not weedkiller  not a fan of its use tbh

Arrange direct with Dave and I’m sure it’ll fine to come down in the week. There are some large ones behind the fence in the abyss which really need cutting back but that will require a strimmer I think

Already had a go at the weeds from the stairwell to the old club shop, which is now clear and made a start on the wall opposite. Clearing by hand (with gardening gloves) is immediate and looks good and would probably be better to use weed killer when they pop their heads through again. There are some ugly thistles growing near the new home end turnstiles which would look much better if removed, beware of the prickles.
Bring a kneeling pad, it’s more comfortable and a weeding tool of some description, some just pull out with a good tug.
Unfortunately can not help this week, but will return next week to carry on with some internal painting.

Scorching!!

FYI for those planning the work party activities.  Weeds all cleared from the skips down the back of the 1883 stand and to the entrance of Turnstile B.  Also a little more progress on the weeds against the wall opposite the offices.

Imo what's needed now is to spray the weeded areas to stop them returning. Shifted as many roots as possible but some well dug into what is rock hard ground.  The area along the wall opposite the 1883 may be easier to spray than weed.  Area opposite turnstile A as it drops into the bottom car park, and around the car park will need cleaning too.  May need a powerful strimmer or similar.  Will need PPE and club may need to OK spraying in particular (and strimmer) for h&s.

As for the jungle behind goals and side....ain't going to be easy for the ball boys and girls (and the old bloke who does this for the Women's side)!
