Anyone with any experience of painting & decorating who is able to help in the bar next week please either drop a dm or reply below - either daytime/evenings, whatever is convenient

If you are planning on doing any non pitchside gardening/weeding please give me a nudge. Some areas sprayed today. Hopefully in a few days time it'll be obvious where but it will take while for the spray to do its stuff

Again, if you are planning on doing any non pitch side weeding. Areas sprayed last week clearing up nicely but it's a bit like painting the proverbial Forth Bridge! More spraying today around what will be the new T End entrance. Hopefully in a few days time it'll be obvious where but it will take while for the spray to do its stuff again.
I'm not organizing these work parties and have no official capacity; just heading down when I can do try and keep things a little smarter. I've cleared loads of weeds and brambles from the score board terrace which has crept in through the slats in the fence from the jungle beyond!! What would be very useful to keep this ingress in check is a strip to be cut about 2 to 3 foot deep along the back so as to create a nice buffer between the weeds and our fence. It's doable with a couple of hours and a good strimmer (and a mind for H and S of course). My strimmer is just not powerful enough to do the job. Just putting it out there is case somebody might be able to help. If you can a word to Dave or Matty first would be a good idea. Of course give it a few months and mother nature will do the job for us as this years growth dies back but just at the moment the weeds keep a coming!!! Thanks and hope nobody minds me putting this out there.

Your continued endeavours are much appreciated Mr M. I’ll be there most of the day tomorrow if anyone is about.
Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

Thanks Stable Lad, it’s not a glamorous task but one that makes a big difference.
It’s likely that there might be some work to do towards the end of next week in what will become the new club shop, but will confirm that in the next day or so.

Thank you. After years in front of a computer it's enjoyable to get outside and do some gardening; even if it is all a bit rough and ready at the TT. I know this will sound daft to some, but also in a small way it keeps the 'tradition' going of friends, folk like Dave Rey for example, who'd come into MP and keep things in good order back in the day. That top gate is probably just a tired bit of metal work for most but for a few it brings back memories of long chats and laughter with some lovely people and great men who sadly are not with us any more.
There's also a lot of great work being done by the Wednesday crew too. Lot's more to be done though that's for sure.

We now have a 'fire break' of about 1 to 2 feet running down the back of the Score Board terrace and round the corner to the T End. Hopefully that'll keep the weeds and brambles away from creeping onto the terraces and making the place untidy. Of course the weeds will grow back but hopefully it'll be easier to trim them back next time if it's done early enough. At least that's the hope!!
