Just a note - he wasn't found guilty in a criminal court, but a civil court is a different matter.

The bloke is unlikeable, and probably still unemployable. I saw a comment from someone at Fylde saying he was universally disliked there. And there was the time he left West Ham after an incident involving children in their academy.

I’m sure the radio report and other agencies said Derby Crown Court. Unless you can prove otherwise.

Crown Courts deal with criminal matters, which is what Kitto is saying.

Rowe was found not guilty in a criminal court.  This is because guilt has to be proved without a reasonable doubt.

Civil matters, dealt with in County Courts, only need a balance of probability.  So, if a judge in a County Court rules that there was a 51% chance that he committed assault then the court would rule in the woman's favour.

The most famous case - albeit an American one, but the point is the same - is the O.J. Simpson case.  He was found not guilty in a criminal court but a civil case brought by the family of Ron Goldman found unanimously that he was responsible for the deaths.

Of course the biggest difference between criminal and civil matters is that the punishment for criminal matters is likely to be a custodial sentence and civil would be pecuniary.

It was a criminal court. I think Kitto means it was one, but he WASN’T found guilty.

Absolute rubbish unless they have changed the law in the last 18 yrs since since I was a police officer for the 30 years before sexual allegations are a criminal offence.

He was also arrested by the police who arrived in a riot van that certainly wouldn’t happen in a civil case.

Indeed they are - which is why the trial was in a Crown Court.

I'm really struggling to understand what point you're trying to make so I'm going to give up whilst I'm behind.

Kittos opening sentence was “ He wasn’t found guilty in a criminal court” need I say more.

Probably.

Kitto's wording has clearly confused you.

In the criminal court he was found not guilty. Ergo, he wasn't found guilty in a criminal court.

He’s reading “He wasn’t found guilty in a CRIMINAL court” (not noticing the word guilty) as opposed to the intended “He wasn’t found GUILTY in a criminal court” I think.

God we have some weird tangents on these threads. Big Grin
