Ex-Players thread

Everyone who left has seen their stock drop dramatically, and we've been pretty terrible too.

Were we much more than the sum of our parts? Or did someone cast a curse on the team coach home from Brackley?

Is it wrong that I’m pleased that they haven’t maximised their potential elsewhere? It’s the same as when you were a teenager and break up with your missus; you want her to be OK but definitely don’t want her to move onto better things. In fact you want her next fella to be a downgrade.

I want the players to look back on their time with us as being close to their peak.

That's very different from me, I always feel pride if an ex City player is doing well at a higher level, especially in League football.

I think its relative, if they do moderately better I think you tend to be annoyed, as there is still a "they could still be with us" sentiment.  If they've gone on to do significantly better then its more a case of being proud of being part of the journey.

To bring it back to dating, you're ecstatic if you can tell someone you once dated Beyoncee, but you probably aren't telling all and sundry about the girl round the corner you once dated, whose partner lives in a slightly bigger house/drives a slightly better car!

I agree at a higher lever but most are journeyman that said if someone offers u another £100 a week part time off u go. No club loyalty but u can’t blame the individual

If ever a player should have played League football...

Looks just as fit now as he did 25 years ago. Bloody lovely bloke as well.

And he chose a “Judas” Smile

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

Danny Andrew is still a regular starter in League One, he's had a decent career after leaving us.

If we're reminiscing - how about Sticksy?

Any other ex-City player's make it to such a high level?
